POST /v1/refunds for a donation that is being sent to the church's bank at that moment. No refund was created.

Repeat the same request in a few minutes, with the same Idempotency-Key. Once the bank answers, the refund can be created, and Roster sends the money to the donor's bank account. If the church was already paid, Roster deducts the amount from the church's next payouts. See Three moments, seen from outside.
