For churches

This section is for churches that offer paycheck giving with Roster, and for the person who builds the church's website or connects its church software.

If your church gets paycheck gifts through a giving platform it already uses, that platform set Roster up for you: the gifts reach you through it, and it is the one to ask. If you are a platform adding paycheck giving as a channel, you are in the wrong door: start at the partner introduction.

From sign-up to your first gift

  1. Create your account and verify your church. Setup asks for your church's details, an authorized representative, the IRS check and the bank account where gifts land. See Start receiving gifts.
  2. Add the giving button to your website. See Install the giving button.
  3. Add the cancel button to your website, so donors can change or cancel their own gift. See Install the cancel button.
  4. Connect your church software (optional), so gifts land there instead of being retyped. See Gifts into your software.

The dashboard keeps the first three as a list, To start receiving gifts, on the Overview and in the Integration Guide, and shows what is left. Money is covered in Payouts and fees; when something looks wrong, start at Troubleshooting.

Your dashboard

  • Overview shows how giving is going: what reached your bank account this month, your active donors and your latest payouts. Needs you lists what only your church can fix. Until your church starts receiving gifts, it shows sample data, marked as such.
  • Gifts lists your recurring gifts and the payouts sent to your bank account.
  • Integration Guide walks through the steps above, in order.
  • Donor Flow shows what donors see, and lets you choose your button and match the pop-up to your site.
  • Cancellation has the cancel button and a demo of what donors see when they change or cancel.
  • Setup holds your church's details, verification and bank account.
  • Team manages who can sign in; Settings has your name and how you sign in.

Click Search or press Cmd/Ctrl+K to find a page or a record of your own church. The search never shows other churches' records.

Team roles

Everyone on Team is an Owner or a Member. You choose the role when you invite them.

  • Everyone sees every page, Setup included. Anyone can save your website addresses, change how the buttons and the pop-up look, connect your church software, create a read key, and invite or remove Members.
  • Only an Owner can change Setup (your church's details, documents and bank account), invite or remove another Owner, and add another church.
  • Every Owner gets an email when the bank account changes, when the church software connection changes, and when someone creates a read key.
  • A church always keeps an Owner. The last one can't leave or be removed: invite someone as Owner first.

When someone leaves the team or is removed, the church software connection they set up is paused and their read keys stop working. See Gifts into your software.

Getting help

Book a call is in the dashboard menu, or write to support@rostergiving.com.

If your team uses an AI assistant, connect the docs MCP server so it can read these guides. It needs no key. The other server on that page, the API MCP server, works with a Partner API key and is for giving platforms: churches don't use it. Never paste a sign-in link, a read key or donor details into an assistant conversation.
